Our Journey from 1817 to Present Day
We want to welcome you to the Monroe Ohio Historical Society! We operate three (3)
museums: an 1800’s era log cabin, the 1910 General Store, and our home, a replica

We are very pleased to announce that Lynnette Warrick was the proud winner of the 2011 quilt raffle! What made this an extra special surprise was that Lynnette’s mother, Wanda Lou Benninghoff (1931-2007), was one of the original quilters who worked on this project for the Historical Society! We couldn’t be happier that Lynnette came to own a beautiful piece of her mothers passion and joy.
The 1910 General Store & “Chickahominy House” Museums at 2 & 10 E. Elm Street in downtown Monroe will be open the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10am - 2pm of each month, except Jan. & Feb. Admission is FREE!
Visiting Our Museums - We are always happy to accommodate groups or school tours through our museums, including the pioneer log cabin in the park. Call us to schedule 539-2270.
We need Volunteers & docents - inquire today!
